Kenneth Tish, 93, died Sept. 15, 1996 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Iowa.
Funeral services were held Sept. 19, 1996 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, Iowa, with Mr. Bill Ell of the West Liberty Church of Christ officiating. Miss Alice Underwood was organist. Casket bearers were Bob McCulley, Roger Gerard, Robert Henning, Richard Peters, Dan McConnell and Edward Snook. Burial was in the West Liberty Cemetery.
Kenneth was born January 16, 1903 near Searsboro, Iowa, the son of John and Selah (Reeves) Tish. On Feb. 3, 1927, he was united in marriage with Geneva C. Hockey at Montezuma, Iowa. They lived near Montezuma until moving west of Brooklyn. Kenneth worked as a farm hand before working for the Poweshiek County Road Department. Geneva died June 29, 1987. In June 1993, Kenneth became a resident of Friendship Manor at Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geneva; two sisters: Sylvia Thompson and Cecile Snider; and six brothers Chester, Warren, Floyd, Clayton, Alfred and Clair.
Kenneth is survived by three daughers and their husbands: Pauline and Alva Vincent of Tama; Dorothy and Gysbert Braaksma, Montezuma; and Beulah and Paul Upah of Tama; two sons and their wives: Dale and Sandra Tish of Iowa City; and LaVerne and Carolyn Tish of Pierce City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Eva Snook of Grinnell and Mrs. Elmer (Gladys) Burggraaf of Deep River; and other relatives and many friends.
