CLIFFORD PIATT
Clifford Duane Piatt, 49, of 122 A Willow Court, Grinnell, died of a heart attack Sunday, May 24, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, with burial in Newton Union Cemetery.
Mr. Piatt was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Newton, the son of Jess C. and Betty Diggs Piatt. He farmed in the Colfax area and worked on road construction in Poweshiek County.
Mr. Piatt had lived in the Colfax, Newton and Albia areas and had been a resident of Grinnell for the past few years.
He was married to Loretta Maxine Brown, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Van Sickle of Newton, Shelley Piatt of Ankeny and Mary Jane Piatt at home; one stepson, Jeff Madison of Brooklyn; two stepdaughters, Theresa and Susan Madison, both of Brooklyn; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Crook of Newton and Shirley Smith of Unionville; and his mother, Betty Hughes of Unionville.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sandra Jean Kaisand.
A memorial has been established in his name.
