IMEGENE FAIRCHILD

Imegene A. Fairchild, 51 of Grinnell died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Smith Funeral Home with Norman Bell, associate pastor of the Christian Church in Bloomdale, Mo., officiating. Casket bearers were Matthew, Patrick and Andrew Henderson, Ryan Fairchild, Don Van De Krol and Greg Kirsch. Honorary bearers Charity Kirsch, Heather Fairchild, Jody Van De Krol and Keri Henderson. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be sent to the funeral home.

She was born March 3, 1952, in Burfield, Ky., to Odell and Lucille Criswell Fairchild. She moved with her family to Grinnell in the early 1950s; she attended rural school, then graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of *1950. She worked as a nurses' aid at Friendship Manor and Grinnell Regional Medical Center and prior to retiring had worked as an emergency room technician at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by her father, Odell G. Fairchild of Grinnell, two brothers, Ronnie Fairchild of Baxter and Randy Fairchild of Grinnell; one sister Ann Bell of Grinnell; her maternal grandmother Mae Slagle of Grinnell, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
