GILMA L. LYNCH

Gilma L. Lynch, 75, of Apple Valley, Minn., formerly of Grinnell, died Friday, Sept. 17, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Perry Hunter, nephew of Mrs. Lynch and regional director of Young Life, Minneapolis, Minn., officiated. Pallbearers were her nephews, Sam Gross, Terry Gross, Greg Puls, Randy Puls, Bill Slagle and Danny Slagle.

Burial was in Sheridan Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Children's Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.

She was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Monticello, Ky., to Dock and Bertha Guffey Slagle. The family moved to Grinnell where she attended school, graduating from Grinnell High School in 1936. She worked at the Grinnell Glove Co. and Wright and Peters Motor Co.

On April 15, 1939, she was married to Truman A. Lynch at Bethany, Mo. They lived in Grinnell and Oxford before moving to southern Minnesota in 1954. They returned to Grinnell in 1964 and later moved to Rosemont and Apple Valley, Minn.

Mrs. Lynch was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Thomas of Apple Valley, and three sisters, Gretchen Gross of Newton and Jean Puls and Elsie Hunter, both of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, William and Walter Slagle.
