GLENN GARWOOD SERVICES TODAY

Glenn D. Garwood, 66, of 824 Prince St. died Friday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were set for 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Russell, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Julia Pearce. Pallbearers were Arnold Baetsle, Bill Burk, Lowell Jack, Loren Innis, Shirley Puls and Wilbur Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Art Parkhurst, Steve Smith, Art Grosenbach, Bill Werneburg, and O.R. Peterson.

Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Kirk and Bertha Donley Garwood, he was born Aug. 12, 1910, at Vinton. He moved with his family to Grinnell in 1917 and attended schools here.

Mr. Garwood worked at the Grinnell Beverage Co., manufactured farm wagons with Eddie Anderson, and later worked for Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. as an electrician before retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his children, Keith O. Garwood of Grinnell, Mrs. Joyce Baker of Grinnell, Mrs. William (Charlotte) Cox of Blue Springs, Mo., Mrs. Geraldine Huff of Cudahy, Calif., and Mrs. Donald (Lillie) Bunn of Brooklyn; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Verl Garwood of Grinnell; and one sister, Mrs. Maury (Zella) Parker of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Emmert and Charlotte Garwood who died in infancy.
