LLOYD STANLEY RITES TUESDAY

Lloyd Stanley, 84, of Kellogg died Friday afternoon, April 26, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with John Claussen, youth director of the Kellogg Christian Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be Stanley Ashby, James Anderson, Ray Groom, LeRoy Harms, Ralph Winchell and Wayne Wrage.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery with military rites conducted by members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

The son of Almond H. and Minnie Craft Stanley, he was born near Belle Plaine on Feb. 22, 1901.

During World War II, Mr. Stanley served in the Coast Artillery with the U.S. Army. Following his discharge he was employed for 20 years by Midwest Metal Stamping Co. in Kellogg as welder and custodian. Following his retirement he made his home in Kellogg.

There are no immediate survivors. Two nieces, Louise Lemke and Margaret Hoffstatter, live in Grinnell and Montezuma, respectively. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Erma Wheeler and Leona Mae Hoffstatter.
