RITES HELD FOR MRS. BICKFORD

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Bickford, 90, of Brooklyn were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home. Mrs. Bickford died Saturday evening, Aug. 19, at the Brookhaven Nursing Home.

She was born July 24, 1882, near Hartwick, the daughter of W.C. and Mary Walters Boyle. She was married to Harry Bickford Feb. 18, 1914, at Marshalltown.

Mrs. Bickford, who lived all her life in or around Brooklyn, taught in rural county schools for many years. She was a member of the Methodist church and was a 65-year member of the Deborah Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a nephew, Glenn Wentzel of Iowa City, and a niece, Mrs. Robert Foster of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three sisters.

Officiating at the funeral services was the Rev. Kenneth Siemens. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brooklyn.
