J.H. TUCKER

John Harvey Tucker was born near Dryden, New York, June 21, 1835, and passed away in Los Angeles, California, March 28, 1922, at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 7 days.

His early life was spent in New York and there he received his common school education and also taught a few terms of school. On March 29, 1875 he was united in marriage to Lillie Fortner and they lived for a few years near Davenport, Iowa; then at Moscow and Oxford and then at Brooklyn, where they resided for over thirty years, Mr. Tucker being express and ticket agent for the Rock Island Railway most of that time. In the spring of 1909 Mr. Tucker made his third trip to California for the purpose of making his permanent home there, and he has spent thirteen happy and contented years in that state.

Funeral services for Mr. Tucker were conducted by his former pastor of years ago, Rev.C.V. Cowan, who also conducted the services of Mrs. Tucker, who preceded Mr. Tucker in death one and one half years. Mr. Tucker's health had been gradually failing for the past six years. After an illness of ten days he was released from the burden of the old worn-out body and passed on to the Eternal Home. Had he lived one more day he would have gone to join his bride on their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary. Brother Tucker was the recipient of constant loving care during his declining years, such as can only come from the heart of a loving Christian daughter.--Brooklyn Chronicle.
