MRS. A.H. BARKER DIES IN BROOKLYN

Many Grinnell friends have been saddened by news of the death of Mrs. A.H. Barker who passed away at the family home in Brooklyn last Saturday. Mrs. Barker was a former resident of Grinnell, the family having lived here for several years before moving to Brooklyn. Mrs. Barker's maiden name was Sophia Barber and she was born August 19, 1856, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She was married to Dr. A .H. Barker on April 30, 1884 and is survived by her husband and three children, Alfred, now pastor of the Methodist church at Montezuma, Ada, who is engaged in social service work in Rock Island, Ill., and Frank, who is farming at Storm Lake. All the children were born in Black River, Wis., where the family lived before moving to Grinnell.

Funeral services were held from the M.E. church in Brooklyn, Monday afternoon and interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
