MRS. MARY J. BARTLETT

Mrs. Mary J. Bartlett, mother of Rev. Dana W. Bartlett, died last night at the home of her son on Vignes street. Mrs. Bartlett, who was 86 years of age, met with a severe accident about five months ago, which finally resulted in death.

She was a native of Maine, and also had lived in Grinnell, Ia. About fifteen years ago, upon the death of her husband, she came to make her home with the family of Rev. D.W. Bartlett, and was well known to those who have been in touch with the extensive institutional work done by her son in the upbuilding of Bethlehem Institutional church. While unable on account of her age, to engage in active church work, she had been deeply interested in it. She was the mother of five children, but Mr. Bartlett is the only surviving member of the family.

The funeral will take place from Bethlehem church at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, President Gates of Pomona conducting the services. The interment will be at Evergreen cemetery, and there will be two sets of pall-bearers, one from among old acquaintances of Grinnell and the other composed of Los Angeles friends. The Grinnell pall-bearers will be C.E. Walker, Fred Burlew, Edward Potter, John Rouse and Ernest Phillips.--Los Angeles Express, April 14.
