FORMER GRINNELLIAN DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Mrs. Laura Roach Ricker, 85, a former Grinnell resident, died on June 29, in Berkeley, Calif., where she had been living for many years.

The daughter of John and Susan Roach, Mrs. Ricker lived in Grinnell until 1912, when she moved to Colorado. From there she moved to California.

She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club of Berkeley, Chapter BF of P.E.O. in Berkeley, and the Berkeley Hills Chapter of the D.A.R.

Her husband, also a native of Grinnell, died in the latter part of March of this year.

Survivors include two sons: Dr. John H. Ricker of Phoenix, Ariz., and C. Richard Ricker of Whittier, Calif.; a cousin, Mrs. Harold Lysle of Corona, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on July 1 at the McNarry Chapel in Berkeley with Dr. Vere V. Loper officiating. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery in Grinnell.
