LAST SERVICES FOR MRS. GEO. B. CRITCHETT HELD

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Mrs. George B. Critchett, who died in Grinnell at her home Monday night. Rev. Robert Inglis, assisted by Rev. P.A. Johnson, was in charge of the services, which were held from the Congregational church at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Margery Bouma sang "Crossing the Bar" and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," and Mrs. Marie Morris of Kellogg, an old time friend of the family, sang "Goin' Home" by Dvorak.

Pallbearers were H.C. Morse, R.E. Bates, Ira E. Goodrich, W.S. Smiley, C.H. Hanson and A.M. Burton. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Mrs. Critchett was born in Iowa county near Marengo April 21, 1856, moving to Harlan in 1894. She joined the Methodist church when a young girl and after her marriage joined the Geneva Bluffs Congregational church. In 1909 the Critchett's moved to Grinnell, where Mrs. Critchett has always been an active and worthwhile member of the community.

She is survived by her husband and the following children: Ida Bell Auten, Kellogg; Bert G., Des Moines; Charles C. of North Hollywood, Calif.; Harriet E. Ruby, Los Angeles; Fred R., Des Moines; E. Bruce, San Antonio, Texas; Florence Simonson, Ruthven; George Jr., Denison. A son, Harry, was killed in France in the great war. There are also fifteen grandchildren surviving.

The Critchetts would have been married 59 years in July. Their home on East street has long been a happy center of activity from which the Critchett children have gone out to make their way in the world with a large measure of success.
