ESTHER TAYLOR DIES AT 90

Esther Bliss Taylor, 90, of Oberlin, Ohio, a former Grinnell resident, died Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.

A memorial service was held Nov. 29.

She was born Oct. 25, 1890, at Windom, Kan. She grew up in Grinnell,, where her father, Edwin C. Bliss, was a physician. She attended Grinnell College, graduating in 1915. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

She was married to Lloyd William Taylor in 1917, and she accompanied him to the Panama Canal Zone where he was a coast artillery officer during World War I. The couple later lived in Chicago.

Mrs. Taylor taught history in Griswold and Red Oak. She moved with her husband to Oberlin in 1925, where Mr. Taylor served as a professor of physics at Oberlin College.

Survivors include a son, Edwin F. Taylor of Boston; a daughter, Ruth Taylor Deery of Longview, Wash.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edwin M. Bliss of Casper, Wyo.
