FRANCES H. KINER

Frances H. Kiner, 91, of rural Deep River passed away Nov. 3, 1988, at Grinnell Hospital.

She was born Feb. 11, 1897, south of Union Mills, the daughter of Kissuth and Clara Moore Lucas Western. She attended rural school and Penn Academy in Oskaloosa.

In 1926 she was united in marriage with Charles Russell Kiner at Oskaloosa. To this union three sons were born. After their marriage, they farmed near Ewart. In 1953 they moved to their farm south of Deep River.

She attended the Ewart Methodist Church and was a member of the Tilton Evangelical Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Countryside Star Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1961; a son Wilmer Kiner in 1987; a daughter-in-law Evelyn Kiner; a granddaughter Stacy Kiner; three sisters: Lena Benning; Myra Blanche Western and Alma Kiner and three brothers: twins in infancy and Todd Western.

Frances is survived by two sons: Charles Kiner and his wife, Kathy of Deep River and Melvin Kiner of Altoona; four grandchildren: Cary Kiner, Keely Fowler, Kimberly Wadsworth and Chad Kiner; three great-grandchildren: Dustin; Kyle and Keesha; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service was Sunday, Nov. 6, at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma, with Rev. John Albert, Tilton Evangelical Church officiating. Casket Bearers were Virgil Alpers, Robert McCurdy, Richard McWilliams, Russell Winburn,Jr., Marvin McGuire, and Daryl Goodlow. Interment was at Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart
