WILMER H. KINER

Wilmer Howard Kiner, 56, of rural Deep River died at his home of a heart attack Sunday, Nov. 29, 1987. He was born August 12, 1931, the son of Russell and Frances Western Kiner. He graduated from Montezuma in 1949 and from William Penn College in 1953.

Wilmer served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55. Most of his tour of duty was spent in Austria. He was a member of the Morrison Schrader American Legion Post 296, Deep River.

Since 1956 he has been an instructor at Tri-County Community School in Thornburg teaching math and science.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell and his wife, Shirley.

Survivors include his mother, Frances, of Deep River, two brothers, Charles of Deep River and Melvin of Altoona; a stepson, Chad Kiner of What Cheer; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Wadsworth of What Cheer; a stepgranddaughter, Brandi Wadsworth; and a nephew, Cory Kiner of Kennewick, Wash.

Services are Thursday, Dec. 3, 1:30 p.m. at Tri-County Community School gymnasium, Thornburg, with Rev. Kenneth Arentson officiating. Pallbearers are Robert VanCleave, Robert McCurdy, John Chambers, Russell Winburn, Dick Homan, and Neil Nilles. Burial is in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart. Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Tri-county Community School or the What Cheer Rescue Unit.
