FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR EVELYN NELSON

Funeral services were held August 12 at the Sheridan Methodist church for Mrs. Elmer Nelson of Malcom who died Aug. 9 at Grinnell General hospital. Rev. James Davidson officiated with burial at the Gilman cemetery.

Mrs. Elmer (Evelyn) Nelson, the daughter of Inez and Waldo McLennan, was born near Hartwick Sept. 25, 1915. She attended schools in Jefferson township, graduating from Hartwick in 1933. She then attended beauticians college and operated a shop in Brooklyn for several years.

She was united in marriage to Elmer Nelson Sept.11, 1943.

Mrs. Nelson was a member of the Sheridan Methodist church, the WSCS, and the community "Welcome-In Club."

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Kay, a son, Gaylon,, and her mother. She is survived by her husband, five sons, Larry and Dick Chvala and Dale Nelson of Moorhead, Minn.; Ronnie of Wheat Ridge, Colo. and Kenneth at home; also three grandsons, her father, Waldo McLennan and a brother, Harold of Hartwick and a sister, June Hultman of Chelsea.
