CECIL WILLIAM DEMMEL

Cecil William Demmel, 74, of Victor died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1988, at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center, Belle Plaine.

The son of Charles and Emma Boehmke Demmel, he was born August 31, 1914, southwest of Vinton. He attended school at the Vinton School System.

On August 31, 1939, he was married to Adella Meyer at St. Johns Lutheran Church south of Victor. The couple moved south of Victor in 1940 where they farmed. Cecil retired from farming and moved to Victor in the late 1950's. He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Vinton.

He is survived by two sons: James C. Demmel of Marengo and Dean A. Demmel of Deep River; one daughter: Cheryl Hiner of Conroy. There are six grandchildren: Jeff, John, Jenifer, and Joel Demmel, Angela and Allen Hiner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leland, a sister Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Muschaweck.

Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Johns Lutheran Church with the rev. Nathan P. Rastl officiating. Organist was Marna Mohr of Ladora with Wayne Meyer of Ladora as vocalist. The pall bearers were Martin Bayer, Jr., of Guernsey, Jeff, Joel and John Demmel of Homestead, Allen Hiner of Conroy and David York of Victor. In charge of flowers were Bonnie Morton of Guernsey and Carol York of Victor.

Burial was in the St. Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery south of Victor. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
