EDWARD L. TIBBS, 69

Edward L. Tibbs, 69, of Montezuma, died Sunday, March 3, at the Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral was Friday, March 8, at Watts Funeral Home, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

Edward was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Grinnell, the son of James Oscar and Mamie Mary Tibbs. He graduated from Grinnell High School and worked in construction until he was injured in an accident at age 25. He has lived in Mount Pleasant, Oskaloosa, the Poweshiek County Care Facility and since June 1986, at the Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Edward is survived by a sister Jeannette Revels and brother Harold Tibbs, both of Omaha, Neb.; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Roberta Wilder and Shirley Whittner; and a brother, Albert Tibbs.
