CHARLES MELVIN ADAMS

Mr. Adams was born in Kewanee, Illinois, January 22, 1849, and died at his home near Maple Grove, October 16, 1908, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 21 days.

He was married to Miss Elizabeth A. Adams at Darlington, Wis., Sept. 15, 1870. To this union there were born seven sons and five daughters, eleven of whom survive, one son having died in infancy. The sons are Edward, Walter, Charles, David, Orrin and Burdette, and the daughters are Alma, Rhoda and Addie Adams, Mrs. Geo. D. Brown and Mercey Adams.

To the wife and family a kind and affectionate husband and father is gone and in the community he was held in the highest esteem.

The funeral services were held at the home Sunday, October 18, 1908, conducted by Rev. Elias Handy and interment in the Hazelwood cemetery.
