ALICE THOMPSON

Alice Elizabeth Thompson, 90, of Grinnell died Wednesday, Aug. 8, at St. Francis Manor.

A graveside service was conducted Monday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael D. Smith, pastor of the Grinnell First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

The daughter of Charles and Dora Brandt Thompson, she was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Lynnville, She moved with her family to a farm west of Grinnell. She attended Grant No. 4 School and later received her education in the Grinnell School District.

A lifelong Grinnell resident, she was employed at Grinnell College for 15 years and at Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Co., both in food service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She had been a resident of St. Francis Manor since 1997.

Her parents and one brother, Donald Thompson, preceded her in death.
