NETTIE PAUL

Nettie Marie Paul, 94, of Friendship Manor, Grinnell, died Monday, July 11, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael D. Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler. Pallbearers were Billie Bennett, Gail Latcham, Charles Lusher, David Creps, Lyle Latcham and William Tish.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Nicholas and Walzie *Freekin Brandt, she was born Nov. 26, 1899, in Otley.

She was married to Alfred John Paul Dec. 3, 1919, in Grinnell. They farmed south of Brooklyn for 10 years, then moved to a farm in the Oak Grove community south of Grinnell, operating the farm for 36 years. They retired in 1963 and moved to their home on south West St.

Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Paul continued to live there until she moved to Brookside South in 1986. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor since 1991.

She attended the First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, James and Ira Brandt; one sister, Dora Thompson; and her parents.
