MRS. BERSCHIED FUNERAL TUESDAY

Linda Jane Berschied, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.E. O'Hara of Ginnell was born near Deep River, Sept. 16, 1913. She lived most of her life in Grinnell and attended the Christian church. She was united in marriage to George Berschied Oct. 18, 1930, the ceremony being performed in the Little Mount Baptist church near Montezuma. Mrs. Berschied died Saturday, July 23, at Community hospital, She was preceded in death a few hours by her infant son, George Berschied, Jr.

Mrs. Berschied is survived by her husband, George Berschied, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. O'Hara, two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Cassidy, Mrs. Wilma Johnson, and two brothers, Clyde O'Hara and Paul O'Hara, all of Grinnell. Mrs. Berschied has been ailing for the past 18 months and realized her serious condition. She made the statement a few hours before her death that she was going away to be sick no more. Mother and baby were laid to rest together.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the parental home 502 Park street, the Rev. Ora Hillan and Rev. Florence E. Wixom, pastors of the Foursquare church, officiating.

Rev. Roy Thompson and Mrs. Pearl Holland assisted Rev. Ora Hillan and Rev. Florence Wixom in the singing. The message brought by Rev. Hillan was "If a man dies shall he live again?" The answer was given in Christ's own words, "I am the resurrection and the life." One of the most beautiful features of the ceremony was the grave service as Rev. Hillan and Rev. Wixom stood beside the floral banked open grave and sang the closing hymn. "The Eastern Gate." Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

Pall bearers were James Guffey, William Richardson, Neil O'Brien, Otto De Hart, Louis Bogart and Harry Lincoln.
