OBITUARY

MRS. ROSEANNA MCKANE

Roseanna Montague was born near Londonderry, Donegal County, Ireland, May 10, 1826, and passed away February 14, 1904. At the age of two years she was partially orphaned by losing her mother and when she had attained the age of twelve years her father also passed away leaving her in care of very dear friends and a good christian family with whom she and her father had made their home after her mother's death, and with whom she remained until her marriage with Thomas McKane in 1845. To this union were born ten children, six of whom are living: Mrs. R.M. Burns, Mrs. E.W. Dean, T.E. and W.H. McKane, Mrs. A.E. Fraser and Mrs. G.M. Fraser. All of whom except T.E. McKane were present at her funeral.

Early in life she united with the Presbyterian church, transferring her membership to the Presbyterian church of Philadelphia, of which Dr. Steele was pastor, in 1848, and from which she has never been severed. Being a devoted wife and mother, a kind and true friend, she has led a consistent christian life, having placed her faith in Him who doeth all things well.

Services were conducted from the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.E. Fraser, at ten o'clock Tuesday morning by the Rev. E.M. Vittum. The interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
