Newspaper Obituary dated June 10, 1932

MRS. W.S. ASHING IS SUMMONED

Mrs. W.S. Ashing passed away Tuesday at 10 p.m., May 31, 1932, at the home of her sister-in-law, Lucretia Ashing, east of Searsboro. She had been in failing health since last June. She was born June 4, 1871.

She was united in marriage to W.S. Ashing Nov. 20, 1906. Those surviving are her husband, one son, Merrill of Terre Haute, Ind.; one brother, George Lumadu of Minneapolis; two sisters-in-law, *Tabitha and Lucretia Ashing of Searsboro, besides many friends and relatives to mourn her loss.

She was a member of the Friends church and an active worker in church and Sunday school at Grinnell.

Mrs. Ashing had been a true wife and a devoted mother. She had always been willing to sacrifice for her loved ones and her neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the West Liberty church, two and a half miles east of Searsboro, at 3 p.m. Friday, June 3, conducted by Rev. Mr. Hadley of Searsboro, assisted by Robt. Lincoln of Grinnell. Mrs. Pete Fowler of Grinnell sang three songs.

Pallbearers were Dr. Greene, Wm. McDowell, Pete Fowler, Robt. Lincoln, C.H. Hadley and Howard Davis.
