--Mrs. Anna Lucie Baxon-Bahrenfuse died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Rix, at Wesley, Iowa, September 9, 1900. She was born at Sleswick, Germany, August 5, 1817. At the age of 15 was confirmed at the German Lutheran church, of which she was a member till the time of her death. In the year 1835 she was united in marriage to B.L. Bahrenfuse. They emigrated to this country in 1852, locating in Scott county. In 1865 they moved to this county, locating near Grinnell. In November, 1874, Mr. Bahrenfuse passed away. Since 1895, deceased has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J.D. Rix, at Wesley. She was the mother of nine children, five of whom are living: John Bahrenfuse of Stanberry, Mo.; Henry Bahrenfuse, Grinnell, Ia.; Mrs. B.N. Bahrenfuse of Davenport, Ia.; Mrs. H.J. Schrader of Tama, Ia.; Mrs. John Rix of Wesley, Ia. She also leaves thirty grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. All the children except John were present at the funeral, which was held Tuesday at the Lutheran church north of Malcom. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband.
