KENNETH FLOYD BUSHONG

Kenneth Floyd Bushong, 57, of Rte. 2, Montezuma, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 16, on the Sylvan VeVerka farm.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. Thomas Pickles of the Montezuma United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

The son of John F. and Opal P. Johannes Bushong, he was born June 30, 1932, at Montezuma. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1950.

He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was medically discharged.

He was married to Beverly Sheesley April 19, 1953, at New Sharon.

Mr. Bushong had worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation since 1957 and also farmed. He was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church and the AFSCME, having served on the union's executive council.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly; four daughters, Phyllis Rodgers of Garwin, Cheryl Mitchell of Cedar Rapids, Diane Crittenden of Keswick and Brenda Bushong, a student at William Penn College in Oskaloosa; two sons, Michael and Rex, both of Montezuma; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Bill of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson.
