RITES SET FOR MISS AIKMAN

Frances L. Aikman, 101, of the Mayflower Home died Friday afternoon at the Mayflower Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Denison Chapel of the Mayflower Home, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Music will be provided by Gladys Holt.

Following cremation, ashes will be buried at Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines.

Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The daughter of Joseph and Nancy Hough Aikman, she was born July 16, 1876, at Hartford, Ohio. She was a graduate of Rockford College in Illinois and later taught school in southern Iowa.

Miss Aikman operated her own millinery shop in Minneapolis, Minn., where she designed her own hats. She came to Grinnell in 1953.

There are no immediate survivors.
