MRS. BRADLEY FUNERAL YESTERDAY AFTERNOON

Martha Jane Hayes, daughter of John and Rosana Hayes, was born at Knockcloughrim, Londonderry, Ireland, August 2nd., 1852.

She was united in marriage to Archibald Bradley in 1874. To this union were born eight children. Her husband died in 1893 and she was again united in marriage in 1894 to James Bradley. They came to America and settled in Sheridan Township, December 1894. They lived there until 1902, when they sold their farm and bought a place five miles southeast of Grinnell, where they lived until 1909. Mr. and Mrs. Bradley then moved to Grinnell, bought a home on Reed street and lived there until Mr. Bradley passed away February 1917.

Mrs. Bradley then went with her daughter, Jeannette to Los Angeles, Calif., where she resided for two years, then came back and made her home with her son, George, for one year.

She then went back to Los Angeles where she has made her home for four years.

During the past year however, her health has not been so good and she had a longing for the old home of Grinnell so on May 7th., she left Los Angeles, arriving in Des Moines, May 10th, where she was met by her two sons, Tom and George, and they motored to Grinnell.

She was making her home with her son, George and family and seemingly was in good health. About two weeks ago she contracted a cold and while it didn't appear to be serious it developed into heart trouble and on Sunday, June 1st., the doctor was called and while it still didn't appear to be serious she gradually became worse and all the doctors and loving care could do could not save her, and on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock she quietly passed away.

She leaves to mourn her loss four sons and four daughters. They are: Robert James, Alfred A., Mrs. Maude Eaton, Mrs. Jeannette McBain and Mrs. Florence Miller, all of Los Angeles, Calif., Anne E. Bradley, County Derry, Ireland, and George A. and Tom J. Bradley of Grinnell.

Thirteen grandchildren, two brothers and one sister are left.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church, Rev. W.J. Todd, in charge. Burial was at Hazelwood cemetery.
