OBITUARY.

AMANDA MELVINA HOYT.

Amanda Melvina Hoyt was born November 29th, 1892, and died August 17th, 1905, aged 76 years, 8 months, 17 days. She was married October 15th, 1846, to S.W. Dickerson of Hill, N.H., at Springfield, N.H. They moved west to Wisconsin in 1858, and from there to Illinois in 1860, and then to Iowa in 1872. With the exception of 9 years they have resided in Iowa ever since. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dickerson 10 children, 6 of whom are still living: Mrs. N.A. Cooper and A.C. Dickerson of Grinnell, Iowa; E.S. Dickerson of Hornbeck, La.; M.F. Dickerson of Newton, Iowa; Mrs. A.F. Barnes and Mrs. F.A. Cousins of Carrington, N.D. There are 16 grand children, 3 great grand children. Mrs. Dickerson became a member of the Baptist church at the age of 16 years and continued a member until her death. The funeral occured on the 80th birthday of her husband. May beautiful flowers were sent by friends for which the family wish to extend their thanks.

Mrs. A.F. Barnes and Mrs. F.A. Cousins and daughter Winifred of Carrington, N.D., and Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Dickerson of Newton, Ia., were in the city to attend the funeral of their mother.
