SERVICES HELD ON MONDAY FOR MRS. DELLA HANSON

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home for Mrs. Arthur J. (Della) Hanson, who died at her home Friday morning following an extended illness.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Laverne Streich, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church. Soloist was Loring Rohr, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner at the organ. Members of the flower committee were Mrs. Lena Schmidt and Mrs. Elmer Hillman.

Pallbearers were Raymond Koger, Albert Neighbors, J. Paul Wilson, Leon Wilson, Anson Vinall and Ralph Koger. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery.

The daughter of H.S. and Belle Blake Garrett, she was born on March 30th, 1895, at Waterloo. At the age of six she came with her parents to Grinnell where she attended the Grinnell public schools and Grinnell College for two years. She later attended college in Decatur, Ill. for one year.

Mrs. Hanson was the librarian at Kalamazoo, Mich., and Waterloo, Ia., and was also employed by the Morrison-Shultz Mfg. Co. of Grinnell as secretary.

On Feb. 21st, 1923, she was united in marriage with Arthur J. Hanson at Des Moines and they made their home on a farm a mile south of Grinnell. Mrs. Hanson was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and the St. John's Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Marie) Austin of Grinnell; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alice McCaslen and Mrs. Pearl Nay, both of Grinnell; and one brother, Burton Garrett of Merrifield, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
