The Grinnell (IA) Herald; Nov. 24, 1903

--William T.G. Swift died at his home in the city last Thursday of aneurism of the aorta. He had been in poor health for about two years as the result of an accident received by being struck by a telephone pole. Some time ago he went to Iowa City for an X-ray examination. The physicians there gave him no encourgement and he returned home and died the day following. An autopsy by local physicians confirmed the statements made by them before Mr. Swift went to Iowa city, though at variance with the opinions of physicians at that place. Mr. Swift was born in England in 1865, and served in the British army. He leaves his parents and a brother at Newburg, a brother in Minnesota and a wife and son. Services were conducted from the house at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon by the Rev. S. Rowland Robinson of the Baptist church.
