Mrs. Cummings died from asthma of the heart, from which she had suffered during the summer months. She fell March 9, 1934, and broke her hip. She had recovered from this and was able to walk about and was always willing to go and enjoyed company.
Alma Dora Latcham, daughter of W.C. and Abagail Latcham, was born June 22, 1854, in Clayton, N.J., and passed away from this life at her home September 19, 1935, age 81 years, two months and 27 days.
On April 29, 1880, she was united in marriage to James A. Cummings of Ewart. To this union was born one daughter, Blanche, who with her husband, Walter Pollard, and two sons, James E. and Harry C., mourn the passing of their loved one. Sharing with them in their grief is one sister, Amy Wells of Grinnell; two brothers, Ben Latcham of Lacey and Leonard Latcham of Grinnell; and other relatives and friends.
Through the years she has been a member of the M.E. church, and as long as her strengh permitted she was ever active in the service of her Master.
She was a member of the Rebekah lodge and was chaplain of the organization for many years.
She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends, as well as her church and other helpful organizations.
