STROKES FATAL TO CLIFF WILLIAMSON; RITES WEDNESDAY

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Clifford F. Williamson, 73, resident of Brooklyn since 1923, who died Sunday at a Clinton, Ill. hospital.

The rites were conducted at the Methodist church with Rev. E. Edward Philgreen officiating. Rev. George Roquet of the Presbyterian church delivered the sermon.

Williamson had been hospitalized a week. He was in Clinton visiting his son, Vernon, when he suffered a stroke on Sunday, Oct. 9. He had been in serious condition since suffering a second stroke Oct. 10.

Burial was at Hartwick, where Williamson lived before moving to Brooklyn. Honorary pallbearers were members of the I.O.O.F. lodge, of which Williamson was a 50-year member. They were Harley Burch, Wallace Edelen, Carl Reiche, Francis Creps and Hobart Powell. Active pallbearers were members of the Brooklyn Volunteer Fire Department, another organization of which Williamson was a longtime member. They were Raymond Noble, Harold Keller, Ed Bartachek, Elwin Bush, Leonard Roth and Arthur L. Moore.

The American Legion conducted graveside rites. Williamson was a veteran of World War I.

In addition to previous mentioned organizations, he was a member of the Knights of Pythias.

In addition to his widow, *Gladys, and son, Vernon, he is survived by two brothers, Ora of Marengo and Ronald of Hartwick. He was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters a brother and one granddaughter.
