RITES SET FOR HOYT PHELPS

Graveside services for Hoyt M. Phelps, 59, of Los Angeles, Calif., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at *Hazelwood Cemetery.

Mr. Phelps died Jan. 28 at is home in Los Angeles. The body was cremated.

The Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate at Saturday's services.

Mr. Phelps attended Grinnell schools and Grinnell College. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he had lived in California since the war.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of Cherokee. A sister-in-law, Estella Phelps, lives in Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clayton L.; and a sister, Pauline.
