HARVEY MARCUM

Isaac Harvey "Pop" Marcum, 95, died of Alzheimer's disease Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Mayflower in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Marcum, his grandson, officiating. Music will be provided by the family of Jay Marcum, also a grandson. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Mr. Marcum came to Iowa in the 1920s and was married to Bertha Ruth Jones Jan. 1, 1929. She died March 10, 1969. He was married to Mary Marie Reel Bennington in November 1969. She died June 2, 1992.

Mr. Marcum worked for Sam Urfer and the Grinnell Implement Store for over 35 years. He drove the farm machinery delivery truck.

He is survived by his son, Jack, and daughter, Darlene Pickens, both of Grinnell; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Betty Adams of Newburg; nine step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; 18 step-great-great-grandchildren; a half-brother; and two half-sisters.

He was preceded in death by both wives; nine brothers and sisters; three half-brothers and sisters; one great-grandson; and one stepson, Victor LaVerne Bennington of Searsboro.
