MRS. WILLIAM PICKHARDT
Mrs. *William Pickhardt was born in Germany and moved with her parents to Scott county, this state, when a child of two years. There she grew to womanhood. In 1872 she was united in marriage to Wm. Pickhardt and accompanied him to Sheridan township where they became useful and industrious citizens and reared a family of four children.
Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Pickhardt left the farm and moved to this city. For eight years Mrs. Pichardt had been a sufferer with cancer, but she patiently bore her sufferings and with Christian fortitude approached the dissolution of soul and body.
Death relieved her just as the sun was sinking last Monday evening and she was released from her earthly anguish and her soul found comfort in its heavenly home.
Mrs. Pickhardt was a member of the German Lutheran church of Malcom township and lived a consistent Christian life, loved by the members of her family and esteemed by all who knew her.
Three daughters, Mrs. Henry Oltrogge, Mrs. Martin Schultz and Mrs. Alfred Meves and one son, Louis Pickhardt and her husband survive her.
Short services were held at the residence at 11:30 Thursday morning and more extended services later at the Malcom Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. A. Mathias.
