JENNIE MCDONALD

Jennie McDoanld, 67, of Rte. 3, Grinnell, died of congestive heart failure Friday, Aug. 24, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Cook, pastor of the New Hope United Methodist Church of Des Moines, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and vocalists were Ruth Ann Dayton and Wilma Schmitz. Pallbearers were Charles, Paul, Duane, Keith, Roger, Wesley, Dean and Henry McDonald. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

The daughter of Homer and Erma Story Duncan, she was born April 27, 1923, at Unionville, Mo. She attended school there and later moved to Malcom with her family.

She was married to Willis A. Dobbs on May 19, 1944, in Grinnell. The couple lived in Grinnell where she worked for the Grinnell Shoe Co. Her husband died in 1951.

She was married to Walter A. Fisch March 23, 1953. The couple lived in Montezuma, and she was employed at the Poweshiek County Care Facility. Mr. Fisch died in 1975.

She was married to Ernest McDonald Nov. 17, 1978. The couple lived on a farm near Grinnell.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Arna Kitzmann of What Cheer; one son, David Fisch of Montezuma; eight stepsons, Charles McDonald of Central City, Paul, Duane and Dean McDonald, all of Grinnell, Keith, Roger and Henry McDonald, all of Newton, and Wesley McDonald of Quasqueton; seven stepdaughters, Annabelle Hunter of Ankeny, Dorothy Rhinehart and Ellen McLain, both of Brooklyn; Donna McDonald of Tama, Diana Parker of Kensett, Marilyn Starnes of Grinnell and Faye Brown of Mount Ayr; six grandchildren; 35 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Duncan of Grinnell and Homer Duncan of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Esther Hemminger of Montezuma; and a half-sister, Nellie Mitchell of Unionville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands; three step-grandchildren; one half-brother, Lloyd Davis; and one half-sister, Leona Davis.
