MR. JACKSON SERVICES HELD

Claire A. Jackson, 76, of 1401 Prince St. died Thursday evening at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Morris Hay officiating. Organist was Alice Glaspey. Pallbearers were Virgil Brockman, Delbert Emperley, Wallace Groover, Delwin Cross, David Krumm, and Warren Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Adolph Altemeier, Henry Lauber, Lowell Coon, Emmerson Scoville, Roger Sears and Howard Young. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jeffreys and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willemsen.

Fraternal rites were conducted Sunday evening at the Smith Funeral Home by members of the Hermon Masonic Lodge and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

Burial was at Rock Creek Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Claire Jackson memorial fund.

The son of William R. and Minnie Groover Jackson, he was born Aug. 23, 1901, at Washington, Ia. He attended rural school in the Rock Creek area and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1919.

On April 21, 1932, he was married to Myrl Glaspey at Montezuma. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson farmed in the Rock Creek area until 1965 when they moved to Grinnell. Mr. Jackson was also employed by the Maytag Co. Following an illness, he went to Camp Sunnyside.

He was a 50-year member of the Victor Grange and was also active in the Pomona and State of Iowa Granges. He was a member of the Hermon Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, Myrl; his children, Mrs. Florence Wilson of Sioux City and Mrs. Clifford (Frances) Sears and Mrs. Duane (Jacquline) Swatosh, both of Liberty, Mo.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Harold D. Jackson of Kellogg and Donnavan Jackson of Chicago, Ill.; and three sisters, Mrs. Beaulah Kent of South Gate, Calif., Mrs. Faith Barr of Adams City, Colo., and Mrs. Theron (Wilma) Oaks of Bakersfield, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
