EDWIN GOOCH RITES HELD IN NEW SHARON

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 8, for Edwin Gooch, 81, who passed away at his home in New Sharon on Saturday, March 5. The Rev. Ray Biggers officiated at the service held at 2 p.m. at the Harden Funeral Home.

Selections in music were provided by William Klinker and Mrs. Howard Foster.

Casket bearers were Pearl Poe, Jr., Gail Latcham, Raymond Gregory, Charles Anderson, Floyd Little and Allen Wheeler.

The pallbearers were all members of Midway Grange of which Mr. Gooch was a member.

Mrs. Forrest Zimmerman, Mrs. Sam Wheeler, Mrs. Roy Woods and Mrs. Wm. Ferguson cared for the flowers.

Interment was in the Friends cemetery.

Edwin Gooch was born July 23, 1884, near Somerset, Ky. He moved to Grinnell in 1906 and then to the Searsboro and New Sharon communities in 1933. He was active in community affairs wherever he lived.

Survivors incldue his wife, Bessie; two sons, Delmar of Tampa, Fla., and Corvan of Ankeny; two daughters, Mrs. Karl Pearson of Grinnell and Mrs. Jay Heisel of San Carlos, Calif.; two brothers, Jennings Gooch of Neon, Ky.; and Carlisle Gooch of Rockville, Ind.; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer Coan and Mrs. Guy Nolan of Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Eli Warren of Nappanee, Ind., Mrs. Verda Knox of Mishawaka, Ind.; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
