MRS. HARVEY SMITH DIES AT 56; RITES WILL BE TUESDAY

Mrs. Harvey Smith, 56, of 803 Pearl street died Sunday morning at a local hospital following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at James funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W.F. Overhulser. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

Born in Danville, Mo, June 10, 1897, Maude Halterman came to Grinnell at the age of 2 and has lived here since then.

Suviving are her husband, Harvey H. Smith; four daughters, Mrs. Wm. (Elena) Cook of Kellogg, Mrs. Lawrence (Myrtle Lee) Vitera of Grinnell, Mrs. Howard (Mary) Cook of Montezuma and Mrs. Wayne (Florence) McDowell of Grinnell; four sisters, Mrs. Archie Armstrong, Mrs. J.T. Simpson, Mrs. George Roe and Mrs. George Mowitt, all of Grinnell; two brothers, Claude Halterman of Buffalo, N.Y., and Dewey Halterman; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Clayton, her parents, a brother, and a sister.
