OBITUARY OF MRS. DORA HALTERMAN

Mrs. Dora Halterman passed away at the Community hospital Sunday morning at 10 o'clock after a short illness.

Everyone was greatly shocked to learn of the death of this good woman. Owing to the shortness of her last illness her death was entirely unexpected.

She was a very active woman, always doing for others many times beyond her strength and her one great joy in living was in doing for her children, who came first always in her heart. She raised her family by herself, Mr. Halterman having passed away when they were all small and her children now all rise up and call her blessed and will always have with them the memory of a dear loving mother, which is the most precious thing she could have left them.

Everything that loving hands could do for her was done but the Father saw fit to call her home to her eternal rest.

Dora Morgan was born at Middletown, Mo., on Oct. 29, 1871, and departed this life on April 1, 1934, being at the time of her death 62 years of age.

Her early life was spent in Missouri, and she was converted to the faith of the Methodists when a small child.

She was united in marriage to N.W. Halterman on May 13, 1893, at Danville, Mo. They came to Grinnell 33 years ago where she has since made her home. Mr. Halterman died December 9, 1909, and she was left with nine small children to raise.

She leaves to mourn her children: Mrs. James Simpson, Mrs. George Roe, Mrs. Harve Smith, Mrs. George Mowitt, Mrs. Archie Armstrong and Mrs. Ernest Couper, all of Grinnell; Claude Halterman of Rochester, N.Y., and Dewey Halterman of St. Louis, Mo. One son, Noah, died in 1924. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Emma Britt of Danville; two brothers, Clarence Morgan, also of Danville, and Owen Morgan of this city.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church. Burial was in Hazelwood.
