Services Sunday

Funeral services for J. Howard Sanders, 52, of 1604 First Ave., W., will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Howard Anthony will conduct the services. Burial will be in Montezuma Cemetery.

Mr. Sanders will lie in state at the Johnson Funeral Home in Newton until noon Saturday.
He will be taken to the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma where he will lie in state until the services.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife; a son, Robert Gordon Sanders, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Colleen) Trimble of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Hockey of Newton; Mrs. Dortha Ladily of Montezuma and Mrs. Marjorie Elliott of Newton; and three brothers, Roy and Robert of Gibson and Marvin of Minneapolis, Minn.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The son of Otho and Frances Johnston Sanders, he was born July 22, 1909 in Montezuma.

He resided in Montezuma until 1949 when he moved to Newton.

Mr. Sanders was married to Hazel Irene Pearson Jan. 24, 1935 at Oskaloosa.

Mr. Sanders died of a heart attack while hunting Wednesday.
