OBITUARY

MRS. CHARLES (LOTTIE) WALCOTT

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Walcott were held Monday, Mar. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Sheridan Methodist church conducted by the Rev. James Robinson. Memorial music was played and sung by her granddaughter, Mrs. Henry Therkildsen of Casper, Wyo.

Pallbearers were Allan Graff, Howard Sears, David Anthony, Cloyd Gross, Wayne Reams and Scott Dee. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. David Anthony, Mrs. Norval Simmons, Mrs. Howard Sears, and Mrs. Cloyd Gross. Burial was in Sheridan cemetery.

Lottie May Dee was born in Princeton, Ill., May 17, 1868, and passed away at the Imperial Convalescent hospital in Lynwood, Calif., March 24, 1965, after a short illness. She had been spending the winter with a daughter in Downey, Calif. She had attained the age of 96 years, 10 months and eight days.

In 1880, at the age of 12, she came to Sheridan, Iowa, with her parents, one of the early pioneer families. She united with the Sheridan M.E. church in 1882. She lived in Sheridan the rest of her life and had made her home with her son and his wife for some years on the farm that was her childhood home.

After teaching school for three years, she was married to Charles Walcott on Oct. 8, 1889. To this union were born six children. Surviving her are Mrs. Blaine (Darlene) Memmer of Wheatland, Wyo.; Foster of Sheridan; and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Wilson of Downey, Calif.

Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Mrs. Henry Therkildsen of Casper, Wyo., Robert Memmer of Wheatland, Wyo., Ralph Memmer of Cheyenne, Wyo., and John, Jim and Chuck Wilson of Downey, Calif.; her eight great-grandchildren, Kristine, David, Brian and Mark Therkildsen of Casper, Wyo., Scot and Blaine Memmer Jr. of Wheatland, Wyo., and Julia and Martha Memmer of Cheyenne, Wyo.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles; a daughter, Iva Lanore and two sons, Eugene and James E. (Ted).

She was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and in 1931 she joined the Daughters of the American Revolution.
