LANE LOGSDON

Lane Logsdon, 71, of Grinnell died Tuesday, Aug. 6, at his home.

No services were conducted. The body was cremated, and the ashes will be buried at a later date.

The son of Richard and Jennie Sillie Logsdon, he was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Monroe. He was raised in Colfax where he received his education. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

He was married to Edna Neal Sept. 21, 1946, in Troy, Kan., and they lived in Colfax, Des Moines and Iowa City before moving to Grinnell in 1952. Mr. Logsdon worked for the former Shell Oil station in Grinnell for several years and later at the U.S. Post Office here. He was a member of the Grinnell American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Eagles Lodge, the National Rifle Association and the Izaak Walton League.

Surviving are his son, Terry, of Charlottesville, Va.; one grandson; and one brother, Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
