ROSE RICKARD PASSES AWAY HERE SUNDAY

Rose Rickard, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Rickard of 1227 Broad street, passed away at a local hospital early Sunday morning following an illness of several weeks. She was taken to the hospital last Tuesday for an operation. Apparently she had not been seriously sick during her illness, and returned to school for a short time the week before last.

She attended the grade schools in the city and then entered high school where she was a sophomore at the time of her death. Popular in her classes and enthusiastic in her school work Rose will be greatly missed by all of her fellow students. She was active in the Campfire organization and her guardian was Mrs. Grant O. Gale. Rose like music and was a member of the girls' glee club.

The funeral services were held this afternoon from the Baptist church with Rev. William Welsh in charge. Interment was at the Chester cemetery. Pall bearers were chosen from her schoolmates and were Merrill Shelley, Harold Squire, Carleton Flanagan, George Sears, Richard Sears and Raymond Eastridge. Several of her school chums were chosen as honorary pall bearers.

Surviving Rose besides her parents are three sisters and two brothers, Maurine A. of Vinton, Eldora V. at home and Mrs. Perry Turner of Malcom, Glenn E. at home and Ralph R. Rickard who lives with his sister at Malcom.
