GLENN 'RICK' RICKARD

Glenn "Rick" Rickard, 73, of Lopez, Wash., a native of Grinnell, died Wednesday, March 16, at his home.

Graveside services were conducted Sunday at Lopez Union Cemetery, with the Masonic Lodge officiating. Memorials may be made to the Lopez Library or the Lopez Medical Clinic.

The son of Henry Martin and Anna Josephine Rickard, he was born April 18, 1920, in Grinnell. He was employed by Fruehauf Trailers, later transferring to California.

Mr. Rickard served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and after his military service he was the owner and operator of a dry cleaning business in southern California.

He was married to Josephine Martin May 31, 1976. The couple moved to Lopez Island in 1978. Mr. Rickard also was a mechanic and worked at small engine repair.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Glenda Umberham of Anaheim, Calif.; a grandson; and one sister, Eldora Turner of Marshfield, Mo.
