SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. DIMOND

Maurine *A. Dimond, 78, Marshfield, Mo., and formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Nov. 30, at Webco Manor Nursing Home in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Boatman, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud and vocalists will be Patty Evans and Mary Edna Sherman. Pallbearers will be Michael Ahrens, Bruce Blankenfeld, Marty Rickard, Mike Rickard, Hilliard Turner, Jr., and Richard Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Brown, Donovan Evans, Merle Harris, Richard Sears and Willard Wells.

Th daughter of Henry Martin and Anna Josephine Strader Rickard, she was born Dec. 28, 1908, in the Chester community. She attended the Grinnell schools and was a graduate of Grinnell High School in 1929. She was married to Leonard A. (Jack) Dimond Aug. 1, 1943, at Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked as a secretary for Fruenhauf Trailer Company in Des Moines, Kansas City, Mo., and Denver, Colo. She also worked as a secretary for the Union Hardware Company in Los Angeles; as a private secretary to the city manager in Corpus Christi, Texas, and then did secretarial work at Irving Savings and Loan in Irving, Texas, before retiring in 1960. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Daughters of American Colonists, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She also held a lifetime membership in Women's Society of Christian Service.

Mrs. Dimond is survived by her sister, Eldora Turner, Marshfield, and a brother, Glenn Rickard, Lopez Island, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents; her huband; one brother, Ralph Rickard; and two sisters, Alma County, and Rose Rickard.
