OBITUARY

LEONARD A (JACK) DIMOND

Leonard A. (Jack) Dimond passed away July 2, 1965, at Irving, Texas, where he had lived the past 10 years with his wife, the former Maurine Rickard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rickard of Grinnell. They were married on December 24, 1942.

He was born March 16, 1896, the son of George H. Dimond and Martha Hart Dimond of Bethel, Conn. When a young man he moved to Texas and at the time of his death he was employed by the Examining Division of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board of Washington, D.C.; his headquarters were in Dallas, Texas.

He served in the United States Army during peacetime, both at Honolulu, Hawaii, and San Antonio, Texas.

Survivors, besides his widow, are a brother, Charles H. Dimond of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, an infant sister, and a brother, George D. Dimond of Bridgeport, Conn., preceded him in death.

Mr. Dimond was a member of the First Methodist church of Irving, Texas, and services were held at the Ben F. Brown funeral home chapel there on July 4, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Henry Mood officiating. Graveside services were held at Chester cemetery northeast of Grinnell on July 6 with the Rev. Richard Hempenius officiating.

Pallbearers were Burrson Farmer, Richard Sears, Ernest Blankenfeld, Harvey Harris, Clair Strand and Donovan Evans. The James-Schalinske Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
