FUNERAL SERVICES ON WEDNESDAY FOR STACY D. JORDAN

Stacy Doyle Jordan, 83, of 1533 Seventh Avenue, died Sunday evening at a Grinnell hospital. He had not been in the best of health the last three years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Elder Floy Gross of the Primitive Baptist church of Queen City, Mo. officiating. Assisting will be the Elder S.L. Pettus of the Primitve Baptist church of Macon, Mo.

Organ music will be provided by Mrs. Rhee Auman. Pallbearers will be Paul R. Ahrens, Dale Braley, Harry Buchmeier, Henry Lauber, Roy Strasser and Gilbert Taylor. Interment will be in the fmaily plot at Hazelwood cemetery.

He was the son of Francis and Mary Reed Jordan and was born Oct. 22nd, 1882, at Champaign, Ill. His family moved to Winterset, Iowa, where he spent his boyhood and received his early education.

On Dec. 12th, 1905, he was united in marriage with Cora Elmore at Grinnell. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past month.

To the union were born three children, two of whom survive Lloyd Jordan of Brookfield, Mo., and Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Hafkey of Perry.

Mr. and Mrs. Jordan farmed for many years northwest of Grinnell until his retirement in 1963 when they moved to Grinnell. He was a member of the Primitve Baptist church since 1903 and a member of Victor Grange.

Survivors include his wife at the family home; his son and daughter, and three grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Brown of Clayton, Mo., Susan Jordan of Brookfield., and Jack Hafkey of Overland Park, Kan. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Erik and Collin Hafkey; a brother, Grover Jordan of Downey, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Velma Fugate of Palestine, Tex

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lucille, in 1926; one great granddaughter in infancy; two brothers, Perl and Francis Jordan; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Crawford and Mrs. Grace Jones.
