DONNA B. NEVITT

Donna B. Nevitt, 50, of Grinnell died Monday, Jan. 4, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Briggs, pastor of the First Friends Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler.

Pallbearers were Johnnie Harness, David Nevitt, Michael Nevitt, Danny Tish, Rodney Tish and Jeremy Williams. Honorary bearers were Joe Crouse, Van Davis Jr., Arie DeRaad and Phil Wertz.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Dwain and Helen Hunsaker Sumpter, she was born March 19, 1942, in Grinnell. She attended school here. She lived in Louisville, Ky., in the early 1960s before returning to Grinnell.

She had been on the staff of St. Francis Manor since September 1975 and received her certified medication aide degree in February 1977.

Surviving are four children, Regina Crouse, David Nevitt and Michael Nevitt of Grinnell and Wanda DeRaad of White Bear Lake, Minn.; two sisters,Judy Wertz of Grinnell and Vicki Tish of Brooklyn; three brothers, Don Sumper of Brooklyn, Ron of Chicago and Clyde of Centerville; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; a sister, Rebecca Ann in infancy; and a brother, Jerry Sumpter.
